These Writing Guidelines help Insiders and contributors produce content that’s useful to readers and consistent with the InsiderSpain voice. Following them makes your work faster to approve and more effective.
Voice & tone
- Write for an intelligent newcomer who is new to Spain, not to your profession. Explain jargon.
- Be warm, clear, and practical. Favour plain English over corporate or legalese.
- Be honest about trade-offs and uncertainty. Trust is the product.
Structure
- Open with the reader’s problem and what they’ll learn.
- Use descriptive H2/H3 headings, short paragraphs, and lists where they help.
- Aim for genuine depth — typically 800–1,500 words for a guide.
- Link to relevant city guides, verticals, and the directory where it helps the reader.
Accuracy & compliance
- Verify figures, dates, fees, and legal references; cite the year they apply to.
- Frame content as general information, not personalised advice.
- Disclose affiliate links and any conflicts of interest.
- Use original writing only — no plagiarism or unedited AI output.
